Wang Qian was a researcher with the Xi'an Forest of Stone Tablets Museum  prior to her retiremetn. During her scores of years' career, she became a master potter, and she was renowned for her ability or replicate colored pottery figures. That art had been lost during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644).

After her retirement, Wang Rented a courtyard, where she spent her time researching and replicatin colored pottery figures. As the once-endangered craft returned, through her hands, she dubbed herself" Shi Zuo Yong Zhe," or "the first-ever pottery-figure maker."
